1. Who we are

Aethel Online is an in-development MMORPG by Amberfield Studios ("the Studio", "we"). These terms cover your use of this website and, once available, the Aethel Online game services.

2. The state of the realm

Aethel Online is pre-release software. Everything shown on this site — features, skills, regions, dates, and screenshots — describes a game under active development and may change or be removed before launch. One progress wipe is planned between alpha and launch and will be announced well in advance.

3. Your account

• You need a valid email address to join the alpha list; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.
• Accounts are personal: no selling, sharing, or renting them. In a world without resets, a traded account is a stolen legacy.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital-consent age in your country) to create an account.

4. Conduct in the realm

The short version: play fair and be decent at the campfire. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Use bots, macros, or automation to gain progression or wealth;
• Buy or sell in-game items, gold, or services for real money;
• Exploit bugs for gain rather than reporting them;
• Harass other players. Argue about balance, never about people.

Violations can end in warnings, rollbacks, or permanent bans. We would rather never use any of these.

5. Ownership

The Studio owns Aethel Online — its code, art, music, world, and names. Your characters, levels, and items live in our world and are licensed to you for play, not sold. You keep ownership of content you create (screenshots, videos, guides) and grant us a non-exclusive license to share it.

6. No warranties

The website and the game are provided "as is". We work hard to keep both running, but pre-release software falls over sometimes, and we cannot promise uninterrupted service or that your favorite feature survives the next dev letter.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game approaches alpha. Material changes will be announced in the dev letter and on this page before they take effect.
