The questions the community asks most, answered plainly.

How do I get into the alpha?
Join the newsletter on the home page. Invitations go out in waves when Phase 6 begins, in signup order — founders first. Signing up also reserves a founder's badge in your name.
Will my alpha progress be wiped?
One wipe is planned between alpha and launch, and we will announce it months ahead. After launch, never — no seasonal resets, no fresh-start servers. Your account today is your account in ten years.
How is the game monetized?
A flat subscription after launch, with the alpha free for founders. Zero pay-to-win: no XP boosts, no tradeable shop items, no convenience that touches progression. If it affects the game, it cannot be bought.
What platforms will Aethel run on?
Windows, macOS, and Linux at alpha, all on modest hardware — Aethel is built to run on the laptop you already own. A browser client is being prototyped for the launch window.
Can I play solo, or do I need a guild?
Everything outside the deepest group content is soloable at your own pace. But Aethel is built so that company makes everything better — shared campfires, party bonuses, and guild halls in Oakheart. Community is the endgame, not a requirement.
How can I help shape development?
Alpha feedback will be read by the designers directly, and the forums' suggestion hall is where features will be argued into shape. The monthly dev letters end with open questions we genuinely want answered.
